Mai is a financial advisor and managing partner at St. Louis Park, Minnesota-based Greenwald Wealth Management, a financial planning firm that works exclusively with physicians to help grow, manage and protect their wealth. Many young docs come to Mai for help when struggling with student loan debt and prioritizing their financial and life goals, which may include budgeting for their first home, minimizing tax burdens and saving for retirement.
“I’ve found that younger physicians want to be an integral part of the financial planning process and often do their own research upfront,” says Mai. “And I enjoy educating them, laying out the range of their available financial options and choices, rather than just telling them what steps to take.”
Mai realized she loved learning about finance in high school and that is when she started on the track of helping others with financial planning. She continued to pursue her interest by earning her Bachelor’s degree in Personal Finance, focused on family financial management and economic well-being, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In order to provide her clients with the highest level of service, Mai obtained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification and is a Registered Life Planner®.
Mai is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Minnesota and its Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion task force. She is passionate about bringing more diverse talent into the financial planning profession along with educating our local communities on managing their personal finances.
Mai resides in Golden Valley with her husband, Chue Yang, and her two Japanese Spitz, Jasmine and Yuki. In her free time, Mai enjoys taking her dogs for a walk in the dog park and hanging out with friends, either having a board game night or cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
